Fun and Sun

Finally this day we decided it was time to get out and have some fun and relaxation. Dylan took Christian in the water and poor baby boy got sprayed really hard..

Noelle was the rowdy one and went to every water station over and over again.

I wish I could get one good smile out of this girl.

He had soooo  much fun, he has always been an out door kinda dude.

See Noelle trying to suck up the water, lil sicko ;-)

Sadee hardly went in at all, but still had fun sun bathing.

nice 3 fingered peace sign bud haha

just having fun sitting and relaxing

Hey you :)

D and mom, we had a good time talking and laughing

Dylan is so handy, he made himself an organic grass bracelet haha

my bohemian son ;-)

this is so Miss Priss hahaha

daddy showed up as soon as he could after work, it was a fun day :)

Happy 32nd Kendall!

So Kendall had a very yummy birthday :) The kids and I surprised him at work with a mini cake and some cupcakes for the kids and some of his co-workers. His mini cake was a chocolate cake with cream cheese frosting and caramel and toffee on top from Dippidee, a local bakery.

Then for his birthday dinner he had some delicious Sushi Rolls that smelt and looked SOOO good. Sushi might be one of Kendall's favorite foods ever ;-)

Then at the official celebration I got him the best Carrot cake (again Kendall's favorite) that I have ever had a nibble of, ever! Kendall I think has pretty much eaten the rest of that cake himself it was so dang good. Oh and we had ice cream haha

Kendall got a wonderful card from his sister Shanda and his mommy in-law, thanks you guys it really made his day!

I know that Kendall seeing his family at work and having the evening with his kids was a great way to celebrate another year for him.

We still plan on doing something with just him and I later for his birthday since we didn't have the chance then.....I'm thinking Fiji, yeah that sounds about right ;-)

We hope you had a fantastic day babe!!!

You got to love birthday nuts ;-)

We love you!!!

Constant Gratitude Leads To Happiness

A while back I bought some Gospel Study Journals for Kendall and I. There is a section in it called Gratitude Journal and there is an introduction page to this section that I want to share with you all. It made me, cry, think, and humble.

"It has been suggested that those who keep a record of the things they are truly grateful for feel more content. President Henry B. Eyring stated, "Whatever we get soon seems our natural right, not a gift. And we forget the giver. Then our gaze shifts from what we have been given to what we don't have yet" ("Remembrance and Gratitude," Ensign, November 1989)"

"In fact, being ungrateful is an offence not only to God but also to those around you. Doctrine and Covenants 59:21 teaches, "And in nothing does man offend God, or against none is his wrath kindled, save those who confess not his hand in all things, and obey not his commandments."

"We easily forget that we came into life with nothing. The recipe of happiness is very simple; rid yourself of your notion of your rights. If you think about this you will see that the greater part of all indignities, chagrins, and humiliations you have endured arise  from certain ideas you entertain about what is due you. The great miseries of life come from you believing you are not getting the things you thought you should have."

"As you rise each morning, think about what you have to be thankful for, remember the surprising good fortune you had, the unexpected favor you received, or the unforeseen love, sympathy, regard or appreciation you are shown. Think of a great book or the beautiful sights, pleasant odors, delightful food you have experienced."

"And on those days you can't think of something to be thankful for, read your gratitude journal to be reminded of the many blessing you have received in your life. In other words, "Count your many blessings name them one by one, and it will surprise you what the Lord has done."

This was a very hard thing for me to realize and think about. Those who have been through many refiners fires, as many of us have, feel that we deserve for things to go right to go our way for just once in our lives! And as things unfold we find too many times that a lot of things just don't work out that way. We become bitter, closed minded, hard hearted, offended and will blame others and even God. When above it sates to " rid yourself of your notion of your rights" it struck a cord with in me, a very sensitive one but instantly the Spirit confirmed the very truth of this to me.....and I cried. I cried long with remorse and humility and repentance. Am I as Job yet??? NO. Am I blessed and beyond??? YES....I will do well to remember this from here on out.

Stories and Quotes

The other day they girls were playing with their my little pony's and apparently Sadee's pony got and sick and they were trying to heal her. Sadee and Noelle laid down together on the couch and Sadee placed the sick little pony on her tummy. She looked at it for a moment and placed her hands on her pony and spoke. "Pony Burt, through the authority and the Holy Ghost, I bless that you won't get sick or get bugs in your tail. In the name of Jesus Christ, amen."

Yesterday, getting ready for church, Kendall and I were standing in front of the bathroom mirror doing our hair when we heard this high pitched note (singing) from our closet. Then that note became a plethora of notes, up down, high, low, soft and loud. We looked around the corner into our closet and see Noelle sitting on the floor, holding her dads tie rack to her mouth, "blowing" into it and pressing the tie pegs using them like notes on a flute! Each time she would press a "note" she would sing it pretending it was coming from her new flute.

Dylan did the lesson for Family Home Evening yesterday and his lesson was on Authority. At the end he was asking questions to Sadee and Noelle to have their participation. He asked Sadee if her parents didn't want her to do something that she really wanted to do because it they thought it was dangers what would she do? She raised her eye brows and said very positively, "NOTHING is impossible."

My kids are really the highlight of my life and make me laugh, cry, smile, and thank my Father in heaven for them every day :)
